Bill Fink’s writing and photography has appeared in over 30 different publications, including newspapers, magazines, websites, guidebooks, and travel anthologies.
He has covered topics ranging from five star vacation villas in Tuscany, to trash dump volleyball in Burma, eating squid at a ballgame in Japan and chasing dolphins and a magic squirrel in the Philippines.
Bill’s writing has won numerous awards including the 2009 Lowell Thomas gold for ”Best Foreign Travel Newspaper Story,” has been included in The Best of Lonely Planet Travel Writing, the Travelers’ Tales “Best Travel Writing” collections in 2011 and 2006, and recieved a ”notable story” citation in the 2009 Best American Travel Writing collection.
Some credits include the San Francisco Chronicle, where he’s a regular contributor, as well as Islands Magazine, AFAR Magazine, American Way, AAA’s Via, the Chicago Sun Times, books from Frommer’s and Lonely Planet, websites like travelmuse.com, triporati.com, globorati.com, and some hitchhiking newsletter made by a dude in his basement in England.
Bill has appeared on a talk show in the Philippines, a news interview program in Albania, on the radio in San Francisco, and for some strange reason in the corner of a Nike print ad.
